Everything you need to know to plan your wedding in Bali: the best time to come, how to get here, where to hold your ceremony, costs and legal requirements.
Our ceremonies take place in the late afternoon around 4pm to avoid the sweltering midday heat. We recommend weddings during the dry season, from April to November.
May — June
🍎 Ideal dry season
Beautiful and warm weather. Highly recommended outside school holidays.
July — September
🌫 Windy season
Pleasant weather, cooler at night. Peak tourist season in July-August.
September — November
☀ Very dry season
Very hot weather. Excellent for a wedding, fewer tourists.
November — April
🌧 Rainy season
Heavy rain often in the evening. Not recommended for an outdoor wedding.
💡 Our recommendation
We recommend May, June, September and October outside school holidays. Easter and All Saints’ holidays are also good options — flights to Bali tend to be cheaper at these times.

Flights & Logistics
How to get to Bali?
✦
The fastest flights to Denpasar (Bali) from Europe depart from Paris and Amsterdam via Air France / KLM. After a twelve-hour flight, the journey includes a one-hour technical stop in Singapore, followed by a three-hour flight to Bali.
✈ Via the Arabian Peninsula
Flights via the Arabian Peninsula are equally fast and often cheaper. You can fly from Paris and Nice via Qatar Airways, Emirates or Turkish Airlines.

Ceremony venues
Where to get married in Bali?
✦
For your wedding ceremony, we offer several types of venues suited to every budget and style.
🏠 Private villa — Our recommendation
This is the simplest and most flexible solution. We have a selection of villas of all types and budgets, with sea views, rice field views or perched on clifftops.
🌎 Private outdoor venue
We can exclusively book a beach or cliff for a few hours for the ceremony, followed by dinner at a restaurant or your villa.
🏢 Hotels — With caution
We do not recommend large hotels where conditions are too restrictive and prices are excessive. However, we do work with some beautiful smaller and more flexible hotels.
⛪ Churches and chapels
Reserved for legal or Catholic religious weddings.

Areas & Neighbourhoods
Where to stay during your trip?
✦
The main tourist area of Bali is located in the south of the island around the airport. Here are the recommended areas:
🌞 Seminyak / Kerobokan — The best choice
Cœur du tourism, where most expats live. The chicest restaurants, bars and clubs on the island. Ideal central position between Kuta and Canggu.
🏄 Jimbaran / Uluwatu — Where we celebrate 90% of our weddings
Stunning beaches overlooked by dramatic cliffs. Several magnificent ceremony venues overlooking the sea. An ideal area for your holiday.
🌿 Canggu — Young and vibrant
A very dynamic area with numerous clubs and restaurants. Villas are often cheaper than in Seminyak, with beautiful views over rice fields or the sea.
🌳 Ubud — The green and spiritual wedding
A quieter area, ideal for a garden wedding surrounded by greenery with beautiful rice field views.
🏺 Gili & Nusa Lembongan — Paradise islands
Ceremonies on white sand beaches. Nusa Lembongan is 30 minutes by speedboat. The Gili Islands are accessible in half a day from Bali.

Legal requirements
Legal, religious or symbolic ceremony?
✦
Legal weddings for foreigners or tourists are not possible in Indonesia, except in these cases:
✦One of the partners has had an address in Indonesia for at least 2 months
✦One of the partners holds Indonesian nationality
☢ Religious weddings
Indonesian law requires both partners to share the same religion. The religious ceremony must be held first, before registering the civil marriage. Documents required: ID, proof of religion and authorisation from your parish or mosque.
☤ Islamic wedding
Can be celebrated at the same time as a civil wedding by an Imam.
♀ Catholic wedding
Celebrated by Catholic priests and only in a Catholic church.
♁ Protestant wedding
Can be celebrated anywhere.
✨ Symbolic ceremony — The most popular
La grande vast majority of our couples choose a symbolic ceremony which has no legal value but is just as beautiful and emotional. You get legally married in your home country and celebrate your union in Bali.
